The first quarter of 2024 was an exceptional time for DNOW Lights, as our volunteers wholeheartedly committed themselves to making a significant impact in our communities during January, February and March. From providing assistance to local organizations to empowering our community and combating hunger, our remarkable team surpassed expectations to spread hope and positivity to those most in need.
IADC-SAPC Desert Cleanup
On January 28, 2024, we completed our first international DNOW Lights event! Our Lights volunteers teamed up with the Southern Arabian Peninsula Chapter (SAPC), based in Dubai, to assist with the IADC Desert Cleanup in the Al Qurda Desert. This collaboration helped create local connections and showcased IADC's dedication to sustainability, while also emphasizing the significance of responsible waste management!
Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed Building Event
On February 10, 2024, a team of DNOW Lights volunteers in Houston, Texas spent their morning at Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization committed to constructing, assembling and distributing high-quality bunk beds to underprivileged children and families. Witnessing the organization's steady growth over time, we were thrilled to collaborate with them. We share the same goal: no kid sleeps on the floor in our town!
Feed the Hunger Annual Packathon
On February 22, 2024, our DNOW Lights volunteers teamed up with Feed the Hunger for the annual Packathon in Katy, Texas! This organization has a goal to pack 1 million nutritious meals that will feed children and families in need, locally, nationally and internationally. In one evening DNOW Lights was able to pack 504 boxes, equivalent to 120,960 meals!
Camp Hope Cleanup Event
March 4, 2024 marked the beginning of our collaboration with Camp Hope, a vital interim housing program for veterans situated in Houston, Texas. Dedicated to offering a secure environment for those grappling with trauma and post-traumatic stress, Camp Hope serves as a beacon of healing. Our team eagerly pitched in and participated in various activities, including serving dinner, tending the garden and organizing the campgrounds.
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Houston
On March 13, 2024, a group of DNOW Lights volunteers in Houston, Texas dedicated their time at the Boys & Girls Club. They engaged with local kids in activities to help them develop vital skills, such as confidence, resilience and teamwork, preparing them for any path they choose. From board games to basketball, our employees enjoyed meaningful interactions with the community.
