In the heart of Aberdeen, with a heart for the city—a motto that perfectly reflects the work of The Salvation Army Aberdeen, a community-driven charity providing vital support to those in need.
Located in Castlegate, Aberdeen, at the end of Union Street, this organisation has served as a crucial support hub since 1890, offering everything from drop-in coffee mornings to Good Neighbours Day, a social initiative helping those facing isolation.
Recognising the value of these services, MacLean International Aberdeen has selected The Salvation Army as its charity focus for 2025, reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ensuring all funds raised stay within the Aberdeen community.
MacLean International’s Commitment to Community Impact
The initiative kicked off with a highly successful Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser, where MacLean International employees and corporate donations raised an impressive £2,103.20. This event marked the beginning of an ongoing mission to support local charities and community welfare programs.

Building on this, MacLean International staff have actively volunteered at The Citadel’s Community Hub, helping deliver essential services and deepen their understanding of the charity’s role.
A First-Hand Perspective on Volunteering
MacLean International team member Debbie Taylor reflected on her first volunteer shift, sharing:
“This was an eye-opening experience for both of us. We learned so much about the charity and even the history of this stunning building where they are based, and offer so many of their support initiatives from. It was such a rewarding and humbling experience to be involved and chat to some of the people who use the services – many who not only come for a bite to eat but also for a friendly face and some conversation.”
As part of its CSR strategy for 2025, MacLean International’s Charity Committee has planned a full year of activities, reinforcing its commitment to giving back to local communities.
