MacLean International Group Supports The Salvation Army

Feb 25, 2025 8:11:59 AM

In the heart of Aberdeen, with a heart for the city— a motto that perfectly encapsulates the incredible work of The Salvation Army Aberdeen, a community-focused charity making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Located at the Castlegate end of Union Street, the charity has been a pillar of support for Aberdeen residents since 1890. From providing hot meals at their soup lunches to hosting Good Neighbours Day for socially isolated individuals, The Salvation Army remains a crucial resource for many.

Recognising this local impact, MacLean International Aberdeen has proudly chosen The Salvation Army as its charity focus for 2025, ensuring that funds raised remain entirely within the Aberdeen community.

MacLean International’s Charity Initiative

The partnership began with a Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser in December, where MacLean International employees and corporate donations raised an impressive £2,103.20. This event marked the start of an ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and local charity support.

This week, two MacLean International employees took the next step by volunteering at The Citadel Community Hub, strengthening their involvement with the charity.

A First-Hand Experience of Community Impact

Reflecting on her first volunteer shift, Debbie Taylor shared:

“This was an eye-opening experience for both of us.  We learned so much about the charity and even the history of this stunning building where they are based, and offer so many of their support initiatives from.  It was such a rewarding and humbling experience to be involved and chat to some of the people who use the services – many who not only come for a bite to eat but also for a friendly face and some conversation.”

MacLean International’s Charity Committee has outlined a full calendar of events for 2025, ensuring ongoing involvement and continued support for Aberdeen’s vulnerable communities.
